Australians will be able to make free calls from public payphones across the country under a new Telstra initiative.

Standard national calls and SMS from Telstra's network of more than 15,000 payphones will be made free from Tuesday, while payphones will become completely coinless from October 1.

Consumers will still have to pay for overseas calls, with a six-hour limit on the free local phone calls.

About 11 million calls were made across Telstra payphones in the past year, including 230,000 calls to critical services such as triple zero and Lifeline.

Telstra chief executive Andrew Penn said payphones were a vital lifeline, particularly for the homeless and people escaping an unsafe situation.

"I have been moved seeing firsthand queues of people waiting in line, to use a payphone to tell their family and friends they're safe after a bushfire, a cyclone or some other natural disaster has taken the mobile network down," he said in a statement.

"I can only imagine the relief their families feel knowing their loved one is safe."

Telstra has previously made national calls on its payphones free over the Christmas and New Year period, making it easier for the homeless to contact others.

Major Brendan Nottle of the Salvation Army labelled the decision a "game-changer" that could lift vulnerable Australians out of social poverty and isolation.

"The reality is this piece of infrastructure is absolutely critical because a lot of Australians either don't have a mobile phone, lose it or the phone's charger, or simply run out of credit," he said.

beyonce formation music video

Rolling Stone has released a list of ‘Best Music Videos' ranking the greatest music videos of all time and Beyoncé has taken the number one spot. The 39-year-old has earned the title for her music video for ‘Formation.'

The single was released in February of 2016, and the official video on Youtube currently has over 250 million views. The song was nominated for numerous awards, and won a Grammy for Best Music Video in 2017.

Coming from her album, ‘Lemonade,’ the single peaked at number 17 on the ARIA charts, and number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The video itself was directed by Melina Matsoukas.

Rolling Stones’ 'The 100 Greatest Music Videos’ list describes the video with:

"If Beyoncé’s self-titled visual album established her as one of the greatest artists of all time, her surprise-released “Formation” video (and ensuing album Lemonade) marked her as one of the most important. She partnered with directer Melina Matsoukas, who culled inspiration from the likes of Maya Angelou, Octavia Butler, and Toni Morrison in a striking commentary on significant moments in black American history. In under five minutes, Beyoncé moves from a plantation-style house where the black denizens are the masters not the slaves to the top of a sinking police car. Notably, she released the video in the first week of Black History Month 2016, the day in between what would’ve been Trayvon Martin’s and Sandra Bland’s birthdays. Days later, she would perform the song at the Super Bowl, surrounded by dancers in outfits inspired by the Black Panthers. “I wanted to show — this is black people,” Matsoukas told The New Yorker. “We triumph, we suffer, we’re drowning, we’re being beaten, we’re dancing, we’re eating, and we’re still here.” —B.S."

The already mother-of-two had struggled with numerous miscarriages over the years, and at the end of 2019 conceeded defeat. Speaking to US TODAY Lucy explained, “We got a third dog at the end of September 2019 and my excuse was, ‘well, we aren’t going to have any more kids,’ and then February of 2020 we find out about Reese."

Like most expecting parents, the couple were adament they'd be having the most adorable baby, but Lucy admits realising that wasn't the case when Reese was born, "I'm pretty sure I looked at my husband and was like, 'she's healthy?'".

Since posting the video to TikTok, commenters have drawn parallels between the likeness of Reese and several characters including Mr Bean, Dobby from Harry Potter, Mr Burns from The Simpsons, and a Minecraft villager.

Lucy has a sense of humour about the whole ordeal, and while many were quick to call her a 'horrible mother' for calling her baby ugly, she admits she wanted to normalise what babies really look when they're first born.

Obviously Lucy no longer thinks her bub is ugly and claims, "she just needed a minute" and was quick to grow out of it saying, the "glow up game is strong with this one."
