We’re all familiar with movie classics like Mary Poppins, The Shining, Mrs Doubtfire, Alien and Frozen (and maybe way more familiar with that last one that we want to be!).

So you'll do a double-take when you see the trailers for these famous movies recut to look and sound like very different movie genres, switching horror into a rom com or a comedy into horror.

It's all done with clever editing of scenes mixed with altered voiceovers and alternative music to change the mood. The results are brilliant, hilarious and terrifying - and totally believable.

Grab your popcorn and let us know if you would rather watch these recut versions over the originals!

Imagine showing someone who’s never seen these movies these trailers and then watching their reaction when they sit down and see what the real movies are like! "Yeah honey, The Shining is a romantic comedy, you'll love it. Date night movie for sure!"

The Shining

Let’s start with the recut trailer than kicked off the trend back in the early 2000s, taking Stanley Kubrick’s masterful dark horror story and turning it into a sweet romantic comedy with the perfect theme song. What's not to love!

Mary Poppins

Watch as the singing nanny who delights the children in her care turns into Scary Mary.

Mrs Doubtfire

On a similar theme, Mrs Doubtfire with Robin Williams as the crossdressing dad who hilariously reconnects with his kids takes a frightening turn pretty quickly.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Get your tissues ready, because what used to be a fun caper about three friends taking a day off school is now a tear-jerker. Poor Ferris, you had the world at your feet.

The Silence of the Lambs

Changing an R-rated psychological horror about a cannibal into a romantic comedy takes some skill. This might be a more terrifying concept than the original movie.

Face/Off

John Travolta and Nic Cage face off in a whole new way. The heart wants what it wants.

Alien

The crew of Nostromo intercept a spaceship and discover an extraterrestrial that drives them crazy. But it’s not what you think.

Willy Wonka

Nobody ever goes in. Nobody ever comes out. Welcome to Willy Wonka as a horror movie. The original movie already had a weird vibe to it and this trailer uses it for maximum creepiness.

But it’s not just real-life movies that can go from sweet to dark, check out these two wholesome animated movies that are definitely not kid friendly:

Frozen

The original wholesome movie becomes a chilling horror and not just because of the snow.

Up

Sorry, but Karl is not so nice after all.

Sure, if you get the job you'll also need to make entertaining videos for Insta, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, but you read the bit about getting paid to watch telly, right?

This maths equation has been ‘dividing' the internet for years and has many arguing, so what is the actual answer?

The mathematic problem in question is "8÷2 (2+2) = ?” Depending on who you are, there appears to be two answers that most people are arguing over.

viral maths question

Half say the answer is 8÷2(2+2) = 1 and the other half say the answer is 8÷2(2+2) = 16. But that depends on what method you use to solve the question.

The answer will depend on which order of operations is followed, whether it be PEMDAS or BODMAS. Both methods agree that the sum within the parentheses or brackets should be solved first, and in this case, it’s 2+2=4.

PEMDAS, which stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction is most commonly used in the United States. Using this method, and knowing the first sum is 4, you would solve the sum with the below formula:
8÷(2(4))
= 8÷8
= 1

BODMAS which stands for Brackets, Order, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction, is most commonly used in Australia and the UK. So for this equation, the process would be: 8÷2×4
= 4×4
= 16

Now, we’re not mathematicians here but if you type the sum in Google, it will give you 16.

One mathemetician however, has done a full analysis on the question and he says the answer is also 16. You can read his article below:

So, the answer seems to be that there are two answers! What do you think?

There's no doubt that some things you get from K-Mart are absolute gems, while others are just.. well.. "poop" as one TikTok user has discovered.

The short video starts with "I thought this picture from Kmart was beautiful" and at first glance it really is. A lovely serene picture of the beach.

Things are about to take a turn though.

She continues, "We hung it above our bed".

Right.. nice place to put it I guess. I would have chosen a hallway or in the lounge room.. or as it turns out, the toilet

because as she says "Then we saw the Dog Poo".

But is that what it is?

The internet is divided with some saying it could be "A Rock" or some "bark" but we think that @monimooshroom might have just got it right in the first place.

So if nothing else its sits there, above her bed, as a friendly reminder to everyone to clean up after your dog at the beach.
