kraft mac and cheese ice cream

Mac and Cheese is a staple in most households but now Kraft have changed the game by releasing their very own Macaroni and Cheese Ice Cream! Their website crashed within minutes and the item sold out soon after the announcement.

Teaming up with American ice cream company, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the limited-edition ice cream was launched on National Mac & Cheese Day in America.

As people rushed to buy the unique ice cream after the announcement, their website was overloaded and crashed nine minutes later, leaving Kraft Macaroni & Cheese to tell their followers on social media:

#MacIceCream is NOT sold out. Looks like our ultra cool collaboration was too hot for our servers to handle. So sit back, make a box of Mac & chill. We’ll have our store back online soon.

It left some eager buyers frustrated with one user on Twitter replying with:

Soon after, Kraft announced the item was sold out but told followers to stay tuned:

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Our ice cream collab with @vanleeuwen sold out faster than you can say cheese. Stay tuned, we’re checking the back of the freezer for more… 😉

Although the limited-edition flavour has sold out, American’s still have the chance to win the last pints available by entering a competition.

The special pint sold for $12 (USD) and the description on their website says:

"Nothing makes us happier than this Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Ice Cream. If this reminds you of the ice cream you grew up with, you might be out of your mind. If this reminds you of the comforting bowl of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese you grew up with, you’re getting warmer. Because did we make this ice cream with that buttery, sweet iconic cheese? You bet."

Fans of the new flavour combination took to social media to share their excitement, with one saying:

"I felt like I was trying to get tickets to a rare beer release or the final show of an AC/DC comeback tour. Patience prevailed. Happy to spend a crazy amount of cash to land that beautiful yellow creaminess. Excited to try it."

Unfortunately, the special limited-edition ice cream isn't available in Australia at this time and was only released in the States. If you could get your hands on some, would you give it a go?

Governor Wolf Receives COVID- 19 Vaccination

Senior federal ministers say they are open to the idea of a national vaccine lottery to encourage Australians to get the jab.

Gambling company Tabcorp has floated the idea of a national vaccine lottery, which Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says he's open to.

"I'm open to all these incentives, whether it's lotteries or free airline tickets or Frequent Flyer points," he told 3AW on Friday.

The treasurer said many businesses had proposed incentives to drive vaccination rates during meetings with the government.

"People should get the jab because it's in their best health interests, it's in their families' best interests, it's in the nation's best health interests," Mr Frydenberg said.

Defence Minister Peter Dutton said he thought the lottery was "a great idea".

"The only two flaws, which the company has identified, is they need regulation approval and someone to pay for it," he told the Nine Network.

"So apart from that it seems like a pretty sound proposal. Anything to incentivise people to get vaccinated."

More than 12 per cent of Australians who are eligible to be vaccinated have received both jabs so far.

There have been 9.6 million doses delivered in total.

Former federal Labor treasurer Wayne Swan poured cold water on the proposal, noting the shortage of vaccine supply.

"It can't work here because it will be like lotto without tickets - we haven't got any vaccines so how's it going to work?" he told Nine.

A Melbourne pub was previously told off for offering free beers to vaccinated patrons.

This was because of the Therapeutic Goods Administration's rules around offering alcohol as an incentive to receive medicines.
