when to watch the lunar eclipse in australia

The sun, earth and moon will align imperfectly during a deep partial lunar eclipse on the evening of Friday the 19th of November 2021. It will be the last lunar eclipse of the year.

The earth’s shadow will cover 99.1% of the moon's surface and will last around 6 hours. This eclipse will be the longest partial lunar eclipse since the 15th century which is around when Machu Picchu was constructed.

According to timeanddate, the eclipse will be visible across the globe in much of Europe, much of Asia, Australia, North/West Africa, North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Arctic. At the maximum point of the eclipse, they expect the earth will cover 99% of the moon’s face (at 09:02 UTC).

The duration of the eclipse will last 6 hours 2 minutes, or around 21,693 seconds to be specific, which is unusually long for a non-total lunar eclipse. The last occurrence of a partial lunar eclipse lasting this long was in 1440, on February 18 and they say the next time another one will last this long will be in 2669, on February 8th.

On the night, the Micro Beaver or Flower Moon will turn red and will look like a total lunar eclipse due to the 99.1% coverage. A Flower Moon is the last full moon before the summer solstice.

Timeanddate will live stream the event starting from 7:00am UTC or 6:00pm AEDT with the actual event starting at 7:34pm AEDT. Below is a list of local time’s to view the eclipse depending on where you are in Australia.

The Duchess of Sussex has said she and her husband Prince Harry are "happy" in California as she spoke about daughter Lilibet's teething troubles in a television interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Meghan is appearing on The Ellen Show eight months after her controversial sit-down with Oprah Winfrey which left the royal family in crisis.

DeGeneres, a friend of the couple who lives near them in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, asked what Harry loves about California.

"We're just happy," the duchess replied.

Of the Sussexes' five-month-old daughter, DeGeneres said: "Lili's now teething," at which Meghan put her hands to her mouth, saying, "Anything to relieve that".

The talk show host quipped, "Tequila, anything", People magazine reported.

Meghan replied: "That's Auntie Ellen for you".

DeGeneres has previously described the Sussexes as "the cutest couple, so down to earth" and defended them when they faced criticism after taking a series of flights on a private jet.

Eighth in line to the throne Lilibet, who the couple have so far not released public pictures of, was born in the US in June.

She was named after the family nickname used for the Queen, but has yet to meet her great-grandmother, grandfather the Prince of Wales, or Harry's brother Prince William and his wife Kate in person.

In the trailer for The Ellen Show, the duchess, in a white blouse with cut-away detail on the sleeves, chatted about how she used to drive to the same Warner Brothers site for auditions.

"To drive in today was very different," she said.

Meghan said she drove a "very, very old" Ford Explorer and the key stopped working in the driver's side door.

"I would open the trunk and climb in and then pull it shut behind me and crawl over all my seats to get out, that's how I would come to and fro," she said.

Netflix has dropped its trailer for end of the world comedy drama Don’t Look Up, which will arrive in time for Christmas.

And the bringer of the apocalypse is a comet the size of Mt Everest. Which makes a nice change from a global pandemic right?

Don’t Look Up is about two low-level astronomers (Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio) who discover a comet the size of Mt Everest on a collision course with Earth. But when they tell the US President (Meryl Streep), she doesn’t care and asks them to “sit tight and assess”.

Which basically means do nothing, and they’re not going to do that. Instead, with the help of Dr Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan) the pair decide to go on a giant media tour to warn everyone about the planet-killer comet.

But with only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it's too late proves shockingly comical - what will it take to get the world to just look up?

The star-studded cast also includes Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi and Cate Blanchett.

The trailer starts with "Based on real events that haven’t happened - yet”. If frustrated scientists failing to get their message across about an impending apocalypse seems familiar, you're right - the movie is inspired by our current climate crisis.

It's written and directed by Academy Award winner Adam McKay, who's no stranger to tackling big issues. He brought us The Big Short, a movie about the financial advisors who greedily profited from the housing bubble and economic collapse in America in 2007 and made a fortune.

Don’t Look Up will come to select Aussie theatres on 9th December 2021 before dropping on Netflix on 24th December.

Remember Crazy Frog? The character originally known as "The Annoying Thing" is making a comeback in December with new music.

The Crazy Frog's hit single which was a cover of "Axel F" (theme of Beverly Hills Cop) became one of the first viral music hits, reaching the number one spot in Australia as well as Sweden, Belgium, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and the UK back in 2005.

The video uploaded to Youtube in 2009 currently has over three billion views. It was followed by other singles such as "Popcorn", "Jingle Bells", and "We Are the Champions (Ding a Dang Dong)."

The Crazy Frog Official Instagram teased fans with new content after posting an image of the animated character in a kitchen with the caption, "Something’s cooking… #soon #crazyfrog."

According to reports, the comeback song will be a mash-up of classic hits targeting the TikTok generation and inspired by TikTok trends.

Producer Wolfgang Boss says about the comeback:

"When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn't exist... But right now TikTok is super important. It's basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music."

Original producer Reinhard "Voodoo" Raith will work with Boss to create the track and it's set to drop on December 10 via Youtube.
