Shoppers across the country are about to discover a collectable set that we are sure will be harder to find than a Golden Snitch in a game of Quidditch.
Get ready to be spellbound with magic in the aisles as Coles and Warner Bros. Consumer Products bring everyone’s favourite Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts characters to life with the launch of Magical Builders, a collectable campaign featuring Wizarding World characters and play kits that are plastic-free and recyclable.
Set to arrive Wednesday at Coles and Coles Express, Magical Builders is one of the biggest and most sustainable Wizarding World-inspired collectable programs Australia has ever seen.
Almost one year after committing to no longer give away plastic toys at the check-out, Coles has worked with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to bring joy to the lives of Aussies in a sustainable way with everyone’s favourite characters like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley and made from 100% FSC® certified cardboard that is also recyclable in household recycling bins.
From Wednesday 6 July, customers will receive a free Coles Magical Builder character with every $30 spent in one transaction at Coles supermarkets, Coles Online and Coles Express.
There are more than 30 characters to collect including five special-edition characters for the keenest collectors and fans can bring their characters to life through recyclable plastic-free play kits inspired by their favourite Wizarding World settings.
Coles Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Ronson said, “Coles is thrilled to work with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises to create an Australian-first collectable campaign that will bring a bit of magic into Australian homes.”
“We wanted to find an interactive and sustainable way for customers to have fun and that will appeal not only to kids but guests of all ages. We know that Australian fans have been waiting for a Wizarding World collectable campaign like this for a long time, so we are very excited to work with Warner Bros. to bring Coles Magical Builders to life."
“With over 30 beloved characters and four iconic settings available to collect, Magical Builders will allow customers to get creative as they build their magical world – all with the added bonus of being plastic-free and recyclable.”
“The magic of the Wizarding World remains strong in Australia with fans loving the recent release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in theatres and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play in Melbourne,” said, Andrew Bromell, Vice President, Warner Bros. Consumer Products ANZ. “We’re always looking for unique ways to bring the Wizarding World to fans in Australia and working with Coles on the Magical Builders program is such an impactful way of doing so.”
Forest Stewardship Council CEO Damian Paull said, “FSC is proud to partner with Coles and we are delighted to bring to life their forest-friendly FSC®-certified Magical Builder characters. Together, we bring about positive change by providing forest-friendly alternatives to plastics. The Magical Builders range is made with responsibly sourced FSC®-certified materials, helping to protect our forests for future generations.”
Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws and Slytherins alike will enjoy exploring their own magical world with four recyclable plastic-free play kits depicting iconic settings that fans will instantly recognise from the Harry Potter films. Customers can let their imaginations run wild by building their very own Hogwarts castle and Quidditch pitch, or by constructing a Platform 9¾ and a Hogwarts Express.
Customers will enjoy getting crafty by popping out the pieces of their builder and assembling the parts together to create their characters and settings.
Avid collectors can also purchase a Hogwarts Trunk Collector Case to house all 35 characters which are also recyclable once the Velcro closing strip is removed. Play kit prices range from $9.75-$15.

Julia Roberts and George Clooney have reunited for romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, showcasing Queensland’s stunning scenery in the process.
Although the movie is set in Bali, it was actually filmed on the Gold Coast, the Whitsundays and Brisbane last year thanks to Australia's safe location during covid.
Ticket to Paradise follows bitterly divorced couple Georgia (Julia Roberts) and David (George Clooney) who go to Bali and team up to stop their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) from abruptly marrying a local (Maxime Bouttier).
It’s Julia's first rom com in 20 yeas and the fifth movie the two have co-starred in after Ocean's Eleven (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), Ocean's Twelve (2004), and Money Monster (2016).
The two definitely have chemistry even when they’re bickering with sharp witted barbs.
I’m not a huge fan of either of them individually, but together? Chemistry for miles!

The exotic location is making people compare it to Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Mamma Mia! Which is hardly surprising given the film is directed by Ol Parker who did Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
The cast also includes Billie Lourd and Lucas Bravo and will be released in Australian cinemas in September.

This fish caught off the coast of Bermagui in New South Wales is the stuff of nightmares. But apparently it's delicious!
Commercial fisherman Jason Moyce uploaded the grotesque image to his Facebook page, Trapman Bermagui, in an attempt to identify it.
"I'm pretty sure this is a blob fish ??? caught in deep water, east off Bermagui,” he wrote. “Probably the ugliest fish I've ever seen. Apparently good eating."
Quite a few commenters suggested it was a monkfish, stargazer or anglerfish and not in fact a blob fish.
Of course, others had their own, humorous take on the creature.
“Hard to tell, but I think it's a Marlboro smoking cigarette fish,” wrote Mark Kaplan. “They look this way from contracting cancer do to smoking from an early age. Obviously, this one didn't read the warning on the label.”
“Looks like the toxic avenger,” said Rob Errichiello.
“He just needs a fedora, ugly sweater and glove with razor blade fingers,” suggested Michael Bush, agreeing with commenter Dawn Keballs that it looked like Freddy Kruger from the Nightmare of Elm Street movies.
"I had an awkward stage in high school and sort of resembled this," wrote Louisa Baker.
But we think Thane Thorpe had the best comment: "When they say there’s more fish in the sea but all the fish be looking like this."
But would you eat it?
If it’s a monkfish, then apparently tastes good, with commenter Flo Renau even offering up some culinary suggestions: "Excellent eating, steamed under seaweed or between pieces of lettuce, tastes very very much like lobster."
Of course, it does beg the question that David Green asked: “Who the hell was brave enough to taste it in the first place."
Obviously someone who was very hungry or very curious!

This image tells us whether you are a dog or a cat person. So which animal do you see first?
Tell us which one matches you.
Dog People are usually very outgoing and extroverted. They enjoy close social interactions and crave attention and affection for others. You'll find dog people out and about going for a walk or a hike and always with boundless energy.
Cat People on the other hand are very content with keeping to themselves. There's nothing better for a Cat person than a quiet night at home in front of the fire, snuggled up and enjoying every ounce of lazy binge-watching life can throw at them.
Did you used to consider yourself one and now find out you are the other?
At the end of the day, there's probably a bit of Cat and Dog in all of us, the lesson is to remember to feed your pets.
