Qantas have released a new advert promoting the case for getting vaccinated and it's got people in tears.

Tugging at the hearts of every Australian, the pull of this ad is around seeing loved ones again especially when they are overseas.

Tones and I set the background music with Fly Away which sets the mood perfectly.

And social media is buzzing with a largely positive response.

Even in the video's comment, there are people being thankful for the hope that we will travel again to see our loved ones.

Nicola Coalter commented "Regardless of any argument about when or how. Or any discussion about privilege of those that will or can. They are indeed important discussions. But not for me, here or now. Just a simple thank you for instilling hope for travel again. I dearly miss my kid in Dublin and this advert was simply hopeful."

It is one of the most iconic television shows Australia has ever seen and now Hey Hey It’s Saturday is bursting onto our screens for a one-off anniversary celebration, with the Seven Network announcing the special event Hey Hey We’re 50 will premiere later this year on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the launch of Australia’s longest-running and most-loved variety/comedy show, Hey Hey We’re 50 will be hosted by Daryl Somers and will feature some of the favourite characters from Hey Hey.

This special television event will put the spotlight on the very best of the madness and mayhem that kept people laughing throughout the show’s remarkable run.

For 30 years, Daryl and the Hey Hey team captivated Australia with not only the biggest names in show business but also the organised chaos of regular segments including Red Faces, What Cheezes Me Off, Celebrity Head, Plucka Duck, Joking Off, Phunny Fotos and Chooklotto.

In a career spanning more than five decades, Daryl has hosted light entertainment programs, kids’ shows, game shows, pop music shows and countless specials, including the highly successful Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars series on Seven earlier this year.

In 2004 Daryl was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the entertainment industry, charitable organisations and the community.

Daryl said: “I was absolutely delighted when Seven suggested a 50th anniversary Hey Hey special.

“Trawling back through the vast archive has been almost as much fun as doing the show in the first place, so I hope we can offer a few laughs, not only to the diehard Hey Hey fans but to all Australians, as we desperately need a touch of levity at this time.”

Seven Network Director of Programming, Angus Ross, said: “There are very few Australian TV shows as loved as Hey Hey and we are really pleased to be able to work with Daryl and his team on this fantastic special event.

“For three decades, Hey Hey was one of the funniest, most entertaining and most unpredictable shows on TV. We’re honoured to be part of what promises to be a wonderful celebration.”

Hey Hey We’re 50 is a Somers Carroll production for the Seven Network and is coming soon to Channel 7 and 7 plus

Four extra members and a handful of new characters have been introduced to The Wiggles family in a bid to diversify the team.

For decades, multiple generations have enjoyed the child-friendly antics of the four Wiggles, but now the crew is doubling in size!

The Wiggles took to social media to make the announcement.

"For the first time ever, #TheWiggles have expanded their line up to eight Wiggles, which is sure to double the fun!", the Instagram post reads.

"Seeking to inspire a diverse audience with its gender balanced and diverse cast, Fruit Salad TV is sure to put a smile on the faces of children all around the world who see themselves reflected on the screen."

Marking the biggest shake-up The Wiggles have ever undergone, the new YouTube exlusive titled 'Fruit Salad TV' will premiere on the platform on Saturday 4th September and is "there to inspire and delight children from all around the world."

There is however one thing almost more surprising than finding out that our beloved childhood TV family is evolving: One of the new members is from Aussie dance troupe, Justice Crew.

The new purple Wiggle is actually John Pearce, and is pegged as the fit one, working a dumbbell while being introduced.

The other three new recruits include the group's first ever Indigenous member, Evie Ferris in blue, Kelly Hamilton in yellow, and Tsehay (pronounced sah-hi) in red, who is the youngest of the group at just 15 years old.

You'll also see some other friendly new faces on-screen with dancing Officer Beaples, Bok the hand puppet, and Shirley Shawn the non-binary unicorn.
