We had to check the date cause this feels like an April Fools, but it looks like Xbox and Sega have teamed up to release limited edition furry controllers with a special Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Xbox Series S.

The custom Xbox Series S features the iconic golden ring from the franchise and the series characters embossed on its surface but it's those Xbox Wireless Controllers that have us all wondering if we are being tricked.

The blue and red textured coatings are inspired by their namesakes, the Sonic Blue and Knuckles Red custom Xbox Wireless Controllers feature an outer shell reminiscent of “bristly” coat of hedgehogs.

To catch these controllers, you better be faster than Sonic and more powerful than Knuckles, this custom gear is being given away!

Xbox and Paramount Pictures have teamed up to celebrate the upcoming film “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” to release a limited time only, custom Xbox Series S console and Xbox Wireless Controllers through two enter-to-win sweepstakes, (see rules) inspired by Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, and Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that development has indeed begun on the next title in “The Witcher” franchise.

The fourth entry in the beloved franchise will be following in some pretty epic footsteps as 2015’s multi Game of the Year award winner “The Witcher III: Wild Hunt” is often referred to as one of, if not “the” best game ever made.

CD Projekt Red said in a social media statement “We’re happy to announce that the next instalment in The Witcher series of video games is currently in development, kicking off a new saga for the franchise.”

In an interesting yet exciting move, the company won’t be using their famed “REDengine” which was used to build Cyberpunk 2077 and instead will rely on the more universally used “Unreal Engine 5”, this also is the beginning of a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games that will cover not only licensing but also technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine, where relevant.

It’s important to note that REDengine will still be used for the upcoming expansion of Cyberpunk 2077

Sony has finally released the official PS5 Console Covers for your PlayStation and they look really impressive.

The system comes with the standard white colour so upgrading to a “universe” themed colour to give it that unique touch seems like a fun idea. It’s actually much easier to do than I thought it would be and the final result is a really pro looking device that could either blend in well with its surroundings or do the opposite and stand out as a feature. It’s all up to how you want to implement it.

These official console covers are really wonderfully shaped with moulded plastic. They feel tough and look great. I was really happy that the cosmic red wasn’t a fully bright solid red and is instead a slightly deeper tone with a hint of dark pink through it for texture.

As I say in the video I would always choose to go with the official PlayStation licenced cover, not a cheap knockoff.

My experience is always go for official licenced products. I used to run a Game store and my experience is unofficial 3rd party products would be faulty like 80% of the time, I spent a lot of time reboxing controllers and memory cards to send back trying to get refunds.

Plus there’s your console warranty to think about.

Lets Change the PS5 Console Cover

You can watch the video above or read on.

Remove any discs that might be in the drive if you have that version of the console. If you have the digital-only version, that’s one less step for you.

Now unplug everything… It’s might seem like a no-brainer.. But let's do it anyway just to be safe.

Remember to remove it from the stand if you have it attached. Some people choose not to use it, but if you are it will need to be removed first.

Now sit it on a flat surface.

Start at the top, it’s the one with the PlayStation logo etched into it. You’ll need to grab the corner where the logo is and lift slightly and slide it towards the back/bottom of the console and it should come loose. This can happen quickly so be prepared so you are not throwing your console or cover across the room.

Now it’s just a matter of grabbing your new top and sliding it on. You’ll see the notches on the bottom will only go one way so feel the notches go in and then it finish with a click.

Now, let’s flip it over and do the bottom.

The trick here is to have the power button facing you and gripping the cover pulling it up towards you to the right. It should pop and lift away.

Then grab your new bottom piece and slide it on looking for that click sound to know it’s secure.

There you go, you now have a brand new colour that is more unique to you.

You can mix and match the covers if you want to go for a dual-tone look as well, imagine you were an Aussie Rules Demons supporter like me, you could go with Red and blue to have your footy team covers.

I’m definitely going to go and get a matching Dualsense controller or it’s going to drive my OCD need for matchy-matchy crazy.

Hope this helped you - Doccy Darko

PlayStation has stepped up the State of Play reveals with two massive ones in two weeks. Today’s showed us 14 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming Harry Potter universe game “Hogwarts Legacy”.

The entire stream is around 20 minutes long with 14 of those minutes dedicated to showing the magical gameplay experience that was captured using a PS5.

Chandler Wood the community manager at Avalanche Software was excited to reveal more via the PlayStations blog

In the game, you’ll be able to choose what type of witch or wizard you want to be. The Character models are inspiring.

You’ll also experience what it’s like to fly through the world in a way only a student of Hogwarts can.

Game Director Alan Tew spoke about what a complete experience the game is expected to be “The most ever-present part of the Wizarding World is its magic, and the playful nature and ‘realness’ of its distinct rules should fuel a surprising, dark mystery that tests the combined resources of those who discover it.

But just as important are the opportunities to experience hundreds of memorable moments, small and large, that fans grew up with and know by heart: from being Sorted in the Great Hall, exploring a new secret chamber in Hogwarts, or impersonating others with Polyjuice Potion; to protecting innocents from a dangerous troll, dodging fireballs from a Hungarian Horntail, or soaring into the sky on the back of a friendly Hippogriff.”

Depending on which Hogwarts house you’re in it will make it a unique experience right down to that house’s common room distinct architecture, décor, and entrances.

Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player open-world action RPG. While you can have NPC companions join you on your adventures, the story is about your own legacy.

Unfortunately, no release date was given outside of “Holidays 2022”, the game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC
