SEGA is working on new big-budget versions of their Dreamcast and Arcade classics Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi.
Jet Set Radio was originally released in 2000 and was an inline skating game set in Tokyo where you went around tagging graffiti points before a rival gang can beat you to it. It’s a title that received a lot of praise for its visual style, gameplay and music.
Crazy Taxi started life on arcade in 1999 as both a stand-up machine and sit down cabinet before being ported to the SEGA Dreamcast in 2000. This score attack game put you in charge of one of several taxi drivers looking for fares and then getting them to their destination in record time. The faster you do your jobs the more time added to the overall time limit. The more stunts you do earns you extra money. This game made owning a Dreamcast in 2000 well worth it and even though the console didn’t take off, I still firmly believe it was the best option on the market at that time.
Play Crazy Taxi on Mobile Now
The original Crazy Taxi is already available to play for free on your IOS or Android mobile device. Crazy Taxi Classic as it’s known is actually a really good fit for mobile devices
The Mobile game features:
– Remastered for mobile devices based on the hugely popular Dreamcast classic
– Rock out to original music by The Offspring and Bad Religion
– Choose from 3, 5 or 10-minute gameplay in Arcade Mode and Original Mode
– Continue the madness with Crazy Box’s 16 mini-games
Play on IOS or Google Play
It is believed that “Fortnite” is being used as inspiration for the new versions of the games as SEGA looks to create “Free to Play, Multiplayer” titles with revenue options through microtransactions.
There might need to be some updates to the themes in the games as well. I’m not sure you see too many Graffi gangs get around on inline skates anymore and in today’s day and age, Crazy Uber might be more appropriate.
Although the titles are in development, it’s unlikely that we’ll see anything until 2024.

For the third year running, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer® initiative is assembling Superhero Streamers of all shapes and sizes to fundraise for life-saving cancer research.
Support Game On Cancer
From National Superhero Day on Thursday 28th April through to Wednesday 11th May, creators of all kinds can sign up and help support some ‘real-life superheroes’ – the amazing researchers that are working to find a cure for all types of cancer. All creators need to do is host a charity stream on their channels and then engage their audience to donate. Streamers can go to Tiltify to sign up and get involved and every dollar raised will support vital cancer research. Every fundraiser will also have the chance to become a Game On Cancer® MVP and earn exclusive merch to celebrate their fundraising efforts.
Over the two weeks, people can tune into live streams from their favourite creators and donate to be in the running to win prizes from Game On Cancer’s partners. The aim is to raise $50,000 AUD which will help fund six months of life-saving cancer research.
To date, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer® initiative has raised over $410,000 AUD for cancer research, which is enough to fund over four years of research. Previous fundraisers have included some of Australia’s largest names in gaming like Loserfruit, Drewdog, PandaTV and Aussie Antics.
Cure Cancer is dedicated entirely to funding early career researchers and to date has provided over 540 research grants to young scientists with ground-breaking innovative ideas, many of who have gone on to become leaders in cancer research globally.
Game On Cancer® is supported by many ambassadors across the gaming industry including hilarious, gaming community channel, Back Pocket and popular gaming personality and DLC podcast host Jeff Cannata
Viewers can show their support by following Game On Cancer® on Twitter, joining them on Discord, tagging their favourite streamers that they would like to see involved and finally, and most importantly, watching a stream and donating.
So, gather your squad and get involved. You’ll be doing something you love and saving lives at the same time.

The Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event was held in Tokyo over the weekend and Disney and Square Enix used the opportunity to announce a brand new addition to the series.
“Kingdom Hearts IV” will mark the beginning of an epic new storyline which will be known as the ‘Lost Master Arc’. Watch the trailer included in this wrap-up video to see how far the game has come.
In the trailer, players are introduced to the expansive city of Quadratum unlike anything seen in the franchise before.
Naturally, it wouldn’t be a Kingdom Hearts game without the return of Sora’s Disney companions Donald and Goofy who we see in the final moments of the trailer and will now be joined by a mysterious new character “Strelitzia”.
Square Enix has also announced a mobile spin-off “Kingdom Hearts Missing Link” which is an all-new game for iOS and Android devices. Players will be able to engage in exhilarating battles against the Heartless and discover a new, original story. A closed beta test is planned for 2022.
Kingdom Hearts is a crossover game between Disney and Square Enix that is part of its own universe and was originally released in 2002 for the Playstation 2. After that, it spawned many sequels and spinoffs across multiple platforms and has shipped more than 35 million copies worldwide. Because of its strong lore and the fantastical world, it has spawned merchandise including figurines, collectable cards, soundtracks and even multiple stories based on the franchise.

In this new 3D platforming adventure, players can freely navigate stages in a vibrant world devoid of civilization using Kirby’s familiar copy abilities as well as the brand-new Mouthful Mode.
What lies in store for Kirby and his new friend, the curious Elfilin, as they explore a mysterious setting filled with abandoned structures from a past civilisation? When setting out to free the Waddle Dees, it can be useful to explore every nook and cranny along the way.
Players can make use of a range of Kirby’s abilities against his foes – and they will put up a challenge, so along with Kirby’s iconic copy abilities, there are new ones as well. Additionally, with the new Mouthful Mode, the latest addition to his powerful repertoire, Kirby can inhale real-world objects to assume unique transformations that help the pink puffball tackle obstacles or solve puzzles.
Kirby can also be joined by a co-star on his adventure. A second player can take part in the fun as Bandana Waddle Dee. Jumping into two-player co-op play on the same console is as easy as sharing a Joy-Con.
Time for a break? Kick back between stages in Waddle Dee Town, which serves as the central hub of the adventure.
The town will develop based on the number of rescued Waddle Dees, with different shops and games opening along the way as the player progresses. Wise Waddle Dee can also be found in Waddle Dee Town and will pass along helpful hints. By going online, it’s possible to learn details based on global player data, such as the total number of Waddle Dees rescued around the world and the current most popular copy ability.
Anyone who wants to get a taste of Kirby’s various copy abilities and the new Mouthful Mode ahead of the game’s launch can check out the free demo available in Nintendo eShop.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is out now on Nintendo Switch. In this 3D platforming adventure, Kirby sets out to rescue Waddle Dees in a mysterious world.
