Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, has been named the favourite companion of the revival era by Doctor Who fans.
The talkative and outspoken Londoner, who joined David Tennant's 10th Doctor on his adventures through space and time on and off between 2006 and 2010, won 23 per cent of the total vote in a UK fan poll.
Noble helped to save civilisation from the Daleks during her spell on the long-running show but had her memories of her adventures in the Tardis wiped when the powers the Time Lord had given her threatened to overwhelm her brain.
The duo have reunited to film scenes that are due to air next year to coincide with the 60th anniversary celebrations of the show.

Around 11,600 people responded to a poll conducted by RadioTimes.com between August 16 and 18 asking them to name their favourite companion of the revival era, which began in 2005.
John Barrowman's Captain Jack Harkness, who also starred in spin-off series Torchwood, claimed a close second place with 21 per cent of the vote, while third place went to Billie Piper's Rose Tyler with 11 per cent of the vote.
In joint fourth was Clara Oswald, played by Jenna Coleman, and Wilfred Mott, who was memorably portrayed by Bernard Cribbins, who died in July aged 93, both with 10 per cent.
Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan alongside Matt Smith's 11th incarnation of the Doctor, placed last with eight per cent of the vote.
"It's no surprise that Catherine Tate's Donna Noble has soared to victory," said RadioTimes.com executive editor Morgan Jeffery.
"Tate's stellar performance and her electric chemistry with David Tennant means Donna is still a clear fan favourite 12 years on from her final appearance to date on the series - no wonder Russell T Davies saw fit to bring her back for the show's 60th anniversary celebrations next year.
"How wonderful too that her on-screen grandfather Wilf remains still so popular in fandom - all credit to a first-class performance from the late, great Bernard Cribbins."

Did your pooch's name make it into the top 10?
HCF Pet Insurance has released the list of most popular Australian dog names to coincide with International Dog Day on August 26.
Charlie is still the most popular name - same as last year - but Coco is now more popular than ever, jumping from 7th place last year to 2nd this year.
And Bella comes in 3rd.
Most popular dog names in Australia, 2022:
- Charlie
- Coco
- Bella
- Ruby
- Max
- Luna
- Molly
- Buddy
- Daisy
- Frankie
And here's the breakdown by state
NSW: Charlie, Coco, Daisy, Ruby, Luna
QLD: Bella, Ruby, Max, Molly, Frankie
VIC: Charlie, Coco, Max, Ruby, Luna
SA: Buddy, Charlie, Molly, Ollie, Frankie
WA: Coco, Molly, Luna, Buddy, Bella
NT: Ziggy, Jack, Jazz, Jessica
ACT: Toby, Ruby, Molly, Charlie, Luna
TAS: Ziggy, Riley, Sheba, Maggie, Lola
The analysis of HCF Pet Insurance data also showed that the most popular dog breed remained the Cavoodle, followed by the Maltese Cross and Labrador.
To celebrate the love Australians have for their furry companions, HCF Pet Insurance surveyed more than 1,000 people to find out more about the role their pooches play in their family unit.
The survey revealed:
- 57% of dog owners (almost 5.7 million Aussies) said ‘overall their dog makes them happier than any other family member’
- 29% of married dog owners (almost 1.9 million Aussies) said they would prefer to share their bed with their dog than their partner
- 36% of dog owners with kids (1.45 million Aussies) give their children food that they wouldn’t consider healthy enough for their dog
HCF Chief Officer Product & Diversified Business, Lorraine Thomas, said the survey results were a nod to just how integrated dogs were into Australian family lives.
"Pets bring great comfort to their owners and can also provide so many health benefits, from being a good reason to get out of the house and go for a walk, to being a calming companion that lends an ear and almost never answers back."

One of the best kept secrets is a secret no more.
KFC's 11 herbs and spices has been leaked, by accident and by none other than the Colonel's nephew.
Joe Lexington, who is the nephew of Harland Sanders or better known as the the Colonel, sat down with the Chicago Tribune and brought along with him an old family scrapbook.
After going through the scrapbook, the reporter from the Tribune noticed a hand written message on the back of Joe's aunt's will. It turns out that it was indeed the infamous 11 herbs and spices.
"That is the original 11 herbs and spices that were supposed to be so secretive," Joe told the reporter.
KFC's secret recipe revealed? Tribune shown family scrapbook with 11 herbs and spices https://t.co/k0ieLSbcPI pic.twitter.com/gg3NygwFqN
— Chicago Tribune (@chicagotribune) August 19, 2016
Here's the recipe
11 Spices - mix with 2 cups of white flour
1. 2/3 tblsp salt
2. 1/2 tblsp thyme
3. 1/2 tblsp basil
4. 1/3 tblsp oregano
5. 1 tblsp celery salt
6. 1 tblsp black pepper
7. 1 tblsp dried mustard
8. 4 tblsp paprika
9. 2 tblsp garlic salt
10. 1 tblsp ground ginger
11. 3 tblsp white pepper
The Tribune tried their best to recreate the chicken but couldn't quite recreate the taste. They later found that the true secret was adding MSG to their mixture, and that’s when they had a match.
So there it is, give it a shot for yourself and let us know how you go.

GUY SEBASTIAN
ANNOUNCES A NEW EAST COAST REGIONAL AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Tickets are on sale from 1st September @ 10.00 am
Following his 2022 record-breaking sold-out National Arena T.R.U.T.H. Tour, Guy Sebastian, together with his full band, will hit the road again as he announces an East Coast regional tour run through Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland (and a stopover in Canberra!) in November and early December 2022 with his T.R.U.T.H. ON THE EAST SIDE TOUR. Tickets are on sale from 1st September, 10 am.
This tour will see Guy and his band performing some of his most popular tracks from across his career - including hit single ‘Believer’, ARIA Song Of The Year & 4 x platinum mega smash ‘Choir’, fight song ‘Before I Go’, the upbeat ‘Love on Display’ and the mesmerising power anthem ‘Standing With You.’ Fans will also be delighted by Guy’s biggest songs including ‘Bloodstone’ and global hit ‘Battle Scars' and many more smash singles from the popular songwriter.
“I love getting out to regional Australia - the obvious beauty of our countryside is one thing, but it’s the people in these towns who make travelling this show regionally worth all the effort. There is something about these intimate venues that makes me feel at home, like I’m surrounded by family- every show is different. I look forward to bringing the next chapter of the T. R. U. T. H. tour to the East Coast of Australia and connecting with fans and friends once again” says Sebastian. “And if I can wrangle some extra time there may be a round of golf with a few of my band members !” Guy adds.
Guy’s recent national T.R.U.T.H. tour broke sales records across Australia including two venue sales records at Sydney’s Super Aware Theatre & Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena. After unavoidable delays due to the pandemic, the fans came out in droves to experience Guy Sebastian in concert– and witnessed a performer that has “more than earnt his stripes” (Daily Telegraph) on the live stage. Guy thrilled audiences with his powerful vocals and even managed a dance or two alongside his exemplary band. His voice reached the furthest corner of each and every venue with his big ballads. His shows are a masterclass in talent and showmanship.
Guy will be donating $1 (plus GST) per ticket sold to The Sebastian Foundation, a charity set up by Guy and wife, Jules, to promote adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
The team have been working on critical projects during a challenging year for many, so you can feel good about nabbing a ticket. Check out the work The Sebastian Foundation does here.
