A blind man has shared the moment when an impatient stranger confronted him and his guide dog as they were blocking the passage on an escalator at a train station. The incident has angered many, with the lack of understanding and empathy during the confrontation.
Author and disability activist, Dr Amit Patel posted the video to Twitter, explaining how the stranger ruined his day. He writes, "Why do some people get so angry? This guy may have forgotten what he said by the time he got on the tube, but it ruined my day. You can hear in my voice just how stressed I was. I’d never endanger @Kika_GuideDog or myself by attempting to move on an escalator. Please, be kind.”

In the video, Patel is first heard asking sorry to the stranger, in which the other male responds, "You’re worse than a dog. If you don’t understand the human being. I just want to catch a train.” Patel responds explaining that he can’t move, replying with, “Yes, but I can’t move. She’s a guide dog. I can’t physically move. She’s not going to move. There’s no point arguing.”
After sharing the video to social media, the incident angered many of Patel’s followers and he was flooded with supportive comments. The footage has over one million views, and over five thousand retweets at the time of writing.
One viewer expressed their anger at the stranger writing, "Things like this make me livid. It also sums up a lot of people in London (where I lived for 15 years) who have zero patience, compassion and willingness to wait. It was one of the reasons I moved away. I hope you and Kika are ok and that this person gets their cuppenance.”
Another wrote, "Absolutely disgusting treatment of Dr. Patel and his guide dog Kika. The sheer entitlement from the man demanding they move because of his impatience. It took seconds to get down to the platform. 🤬 A little empathy, and consideration for those less able goes a long way.”

Patel took to Twitter again to thank those who supported him and his guide dog, writing, "Thanks for all the love & support you’ve shown @Kika_GuideDog & me. Kika’s an absolute professional & has been specially trained by @guidedogs to travel on escalators safely. Heres a little clip of how we do it. All we need is a little space & patience & we can all travel safely"

Dr Patel continues to document and educate others about people with disabilities and has his own book about his guide dog Kika.
If you see a Guide Dog on an escalator, please be patient.

Guide dogs are taught how to get on & disembark an escalator to keep them safe. Any unexpected movements could result in an accident for either of us.

Got a spare half a million lying around? You could buy an Aussie muscle car icon
Nearly 400 classic, rare and unique cars are going up for auction this weekend, including some Aussie icons and a Lamborghini for those who like their rides with a bit of class.
However the showstopper is an iconic matching numbers 1968 Holden HK GTS Monaro 327 Bathurst Coupe, which is set to reach a record price of $500,000.
It's a true-blue unrestored survivor car with mostly original paintwork and completely original interior and genuine matching numbers.
“This is an iconic vehicle that all Aussies love and it will only continue to increase in value as they become harder to find,” said Mr Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer for Lloyds Auctions.
The Monaro is indicating just under 92,000 kilometres on the clock and is fitted with the 327 V8 engine finished in Silver Mink.
Here's a tour:
“We have had an extreme amount of enquiry for this spectacular classic, it is the most anticipated car of the auction, and we expect that it will reach record prices of around $500k,” continued Mr Hames.
Back in October 2020 a similar Holden Bathurst Monaro sold for $320,000 at auction whilst a Bathurst Raced HT Monaro 57D sold for $750,000 back in June 2020.
This Monaro has also been verified by ICAARS and comes with the verification certificate.
Also up for auction is 1 of 1 1979 Holden VH SL/E Factory Prototype which was uncovered from beneath a dust sheet in Country Victoria and is believed to be the only one left in the world and a 2003 Lamborghini L147 Murcielago.
The 1968 Holden HK GTS Monaro 327 Bathurst Coupe goes under the hammer this Saturday and is open for bidding over at Lloyds Auctions.

Tom Holland reveals one of the three Spider-Men actors in No Way Home had to wear a prosthetic bum: "One of us has a fake a** in our suit."
Our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, has revealed that one of his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-stars had to use padding to add some extra junk in their trunk while filming.
Talking to Seth Meyers on Late Night, the British actor dropped the fun fact mid-conversation.
"I'll give you a spoiler, and I'm not gonna tell you who, but one of us has a fake ass in our suit," Tom exclaimed.
Not revealing if it was Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire or himself that had the prosthetic toosh, he added, "You can figure out that for yourselves."
It must've been quite a peachy set of cheeks, as the 25-year-old admitted he caught himself checking them out one day while filming.
"I remember being on set and being like, 'Wow!' Oh hang on a minute, no that's not real," Tom mused.
Naturally, people have taken to social media with who they think was flaunting a fake bum.
Chrissy said, "I always think of the "whoever smelt it, dealt it" argument and will stand on the hill of saying it was Tom Holland himself."
Another user jested that it's "obviously Tobey" because "Tom and Andrew both have dump trucks so it can't be them."

Tom Holland went on to say that sharing the screen with both ex-Spidey's Maguire and Garfield was "the most incredible experience of (his) career."
"You know playing Spider-Man, while being a wonderful experience and completely life-changing, it also can be quite completely alienating," he continued.
"When you're 19, and someone gives you this opportunity and your life changes, it's quite hard to figure out how to navigate."
"So to almost have like two older brothers that had been through it before me, to be able to share that experience with them was amazing."
