Three lives are feared to have been lost in NSW waterways during  a tragic Christmas Day.

A three year old boy was pulled unconscious from the water at Lake Macquarie.

Emergency services were called to Fishing Point Road at Rathmines at about 6.30 pm on Saturday.

The toddler couldn't be revived and he died at the scene.

Police divers meanwhile continue to search for a teenage boy, who's missing in the Murray river near Albury on the NSW Victoria border.

Several teenage boys were swimming in the river at Noreuil Park at about 2.15 pm on Saturday when they got into difficulties.

A search was suspended because of bad light at 8.40 pm and resumed at 8 am on Sunday morning.

A search has resumed this morning for a man missing while swimming in a dam at Bathurst yesterday.

About 1.30pm on Christmas Day, a group of people were on a boat on the dam when a man told his friends he was going to swim to shore, a distance of about 300m.

A storm struck the area a short time later and the man’s friends saw him disappear under the water.
