A child has died after being found unresponsive in Lake Macquarie.
Emergency services were called to Fishing Point Road, Rathmines at about 6.30pm on Christmas Day, after a three-year-old boy had been pulled from the water unconscious.
Bystanders rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, but the child could not be revived and died at the scene.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended and have commenced inquiries.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
