An iconic image of Marilyn Monroe created by Andy Warhol is coming to auction, with Christie's auction house estimating the price at about $US200 million ($A270 million).

The silkscreen image known as Shot Sage Blue Marilyn, a close-up of Monroe with her hair in yellow, her eyeshadow blue and her lips red, is slated to be part of a week of sales in May, Christie's said.

If the image meets the sale estimate, the 1964 painting would be the most expensive 20th-century artwork to be auctioned.

The proceeds of the sale will go to the Thomas and Doris Ammann Foundation Zurich, which is putting the painting up for auction.

The foundation aims to help children with health care and educational programs.

Warhol created numerous images of Monroe, and this particular painting has been exhibited in museums around the world.

How do you open your spaghetti packet? Check out this smashing way to do it!

An adorable Italian grandma has gone viral on TikTok for showing a surprising way to open a packet of spaghetti.

“You never cut the spaghetti with the scissors,” Nonna.Elda.Cooks says in the video, which has had more than 10 million views.

You don’t use a knife either, because it’s dangerous and you always end up ripping the bag awkwardly so you can’t seal it up again.

Instead, Nonna - which means Grandma in Italian - uses brute force to open her spaghetti packet and it’s made us gasp. We did not expect that from this sweet lady in the cute floral apron.

Check out Nonna showing the spaghetti who’s the boss by forcing the top seal to be broken with one quick counter smash:

Nonna’s technique shocked her granddaughter too, who was filming the video and whose gasp you can hear.

Said her grandaughter in the comments: “I was genuinely shocked. I had no idea she was going to do that. 😂”

The technique was a surprise to most of Nonna’s more than 260,000 followers too, earning her much admiration:

“Don’t mess with Nona 😂 ”

"I never thought of doing it like that and I’m a professional chef."

"Mine would break & crumble if I did that. That has to be years of old world experience."

A lot of people also left sweet comments about missing their own Nonnas.

"This video made me miss my nonna…it’s the cooking, the laughing and the apron. Classics…"

"I’m so happy this video reached me! I'm second generation Italian-American and know 0 of my heritage 🥺 this makes me feel more connected"

So next time you’re starved for carbs, use that hangry energy to smash open the spaghetti packet just like Nonna!

But should you add oil into your pasta water? Nonna has a thing to say about that!

Have you ever wondered what is happening inside your dishwasher after you turn it on and walk away?

This guy did, so like any Youtuber worth his salt he went out and purchased everything new and then proceeds to mount an action cam to the inside of one before turning it on so we could watch the magic happen.

Now if you think that sounds easy, it's really not. He admits at the beginning that he's destroyed a few cameras attempting the process.

The combination of water with extreme heat made short work of his previous cameras.

He mentions that the heat reaches around 170F which is around 77 degrees celsius in Australia.

This time he attempts it with a different action cam that has a dive case.

The results are, how do we put this, therapeutic?

The channel is called "Warped Perceptions" and it's a pretty fitting title as we've never experienced anything like it.

If anything it's kind of similar to the experience of taking your car through a car wash.

Be warned though if you get the feeling of claustrophobia this might not be the experience you are looking for.

cat or moose optical illusion

The latest optical illusion doing the rounds on the internet is confusing social media users as they try to spot two hidden animals in an abstract pattern.

The optical illusion was shared by Twitter user @tlhicks713 and most recently @PamelaApostolo1 and shows what appears to be an abstract pattern at first glance. They caption: "Depending on how your brain works, (left or right brain) you'll either see a cat or a moose in this pattern. Whatever animal you see isn’t part of the image, it’s just an optical illusion created by your own brain. If you zoom in on any of the features the illusion disappears."

According to both posters, there should be a hidden cat or moose depending on how your brain works. The animals you see aren’t in the actual image but is an optical illusion created by your brain. Some were unable to see anything but lines, and some took longer to see the hidden images:

For people struggling to see the hidden animal(s), some suggested holding your device further away and scrolling the screen back and forth.

A majority of people could spot the cat in the image however most were struggling to locate the moose. One person did think they managed to see the moose and shared an outline of where they thought it could be.

Apparently, whatever animal you see depends on if you're left or right-brained. Left-brained people tend to be more analytical and right-brained people are known to be more creative. Which one do you see?

The same concept can be seen in many optical illusions such as the ones below.
