A man has died after a motorcycle crash in the Goulburn area yesterday afternoon.
At about 3pm on Saturday, officers from The Hume Police District were notified of a man that had gone for a motorcycle ride but had not been seen since earlier that day.
A 52-year-old man told police that he was out riding with his friend, an 80-year-old man, from Goulburn to Crookwell.
He told Police when he arrived at Goulburn and noticed his friend was no longer following him.
A search commenced for the rider in the surrounding area and just before 6 pm, police located a motorcycle that had crashed on Range Road, Goulburn.
The body of the 80-year-old man was located near the motorcycle.
A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A one billion dollar lifeline has been thrown to New South Wales businesses, drowning in the omicron wave.
The state government will provide $700 million for a Job Saver-style scheme to supplement wages.
Businesses will also be reimbursed for rapid antigen tests to monitor for COVID-19.
NSW Treasurer, Matt Kean says accessing the money will be simple.
He said" Businesses can jump on the Service NSW website and it's an easy process to fill in the application form.
"Applications will open mid- February and the government expects to get cash back into people's pockets within five to 15 business days from an application being lodge'" he said.
The package, which commences from February 1 includes:
- A payment of up to $5000 per week (20% of payroll) for businesses with turnover between $75,000 and $50 million who suffered a 40% downturn in January and project to do the same in February.
- The Small Business Fees and Charges rebate program extended to $3000, and can include 50% of the costs incurred to acquire RATs for the workplace.
- Commercial landlord relief extended until 13 March.

A little-known WA beach called Misery has taken out the title of Australia’s Best Beach.
Described as ‘picture perfect’, the white sandy shores of this paradoxically named spot were once stained deep red with blood from a neighbouring whaling station in Albany, Western Australia.
Misery Beach is one of 20 beaches judged to be the country’s best for 2022 by Australian coastal veteran and Tourism Australia appointed Friend of Australia and beach expert, Brad Farmer AM.
Farmer has been writing about beaches for almost 40 years and has visited most of Australia’s accessible beaches in his research travels.
This year’s list of winners focuses on nature-based locations, many quirky spots within easy reach of cities and also celebrates the significant cultural value of the coast to First Nations peoples.

Police raids targeting crime networks across Sydney have uncovered almost 20 guns, ammunition, drugs and cash, with 115 people charged in the two-day operation.
Officers seized $1.2 million worth of prohibited drugs including methylamphetamine (ice), MDMA, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and cannabis.
Police say bikie gangs were among the groups targeted, with officers carrying out 66 firearm prohibition order searches and crime scene warrants, seizing 18 firearms and 672 rounds of ammunition.
Officers also seized almost $100,000 cash.
Police completed more than 450 bail compliance checks and inspected almost 200 businesses.
The 115 people were charged with a combined 292 offences between Thursday and Saturday morning.
