The Illawarra Highway has reopened in both directions through Robertson.

The highway had been closed due to fallen trees and wires down between Sheepwash Road and Pearsons Lane.

Diversions have been lifted and traffic conditions in the area have returned to normal.

The Illawarra Highway is closed in both directions at Robertson due to fallen trees and wires down between Sheepwash Road and Pearsons Lane. 

Light traffic is being diverted via Pearsons Lane, Wildes Meadows Road, and Sheepwash Road to re-join Illawarra Highway.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and exercise caution through the area. 

Heavy vehicles can divert via the Hume Motorway, Picton Road and the M1 Princes Motorway, which will add about 30 minutes additional travel time.

Buses are replacing trains on the South Coast Line between Waterfall and Wollongong, in both directions, due to urgent overhead wiring repairs at Thirroul.

Trains travelling away from Sydney will terminate at Coalcliff.

Passengers travelling beyond Coalcliff should change at Waterfall for buses towards Wollongong.

Passengers should allow extra travel time, listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.  

Trains between Wollongong and Kiama are running normal.

The Bureau of Meteorology have issued a Hazardous Surf Warning for Sunday 12 June in the following areas:

Byron Coast, Coffs Coast, Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast.
 
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their trip.
