A one billion dollar lifeline has been thrown to New South Wales businesses, drowning in the omicron wave. 

The state government will provide $700 million for a Job Saver-style scheme to supplement wages. 

Businesses will also be reimbursed for rapid antigen tests to monitor for COVID-19. 

NSW Treasurer, Matt Kean says accessing the money will be simple.

He said" Businesses can jump on the Service NSW website and it's an easy process to fill in the application form.

"Applications will open mid- February and the government expects to get cash back into people's pockets within five to 15 business days from an application being lodge'" he said.
