A man has been charged following an armed robbery on the NSW South Coast.
About 6pm Friday, Police went to a supermarket on Island Point Road, St Georges Basin, after reports of an armed robbery, South Coast Police were told the man threatened a teenage employee with a knife, before taking off on foot with cash.
He was chased by several witnesses, and with the help of Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Police Dog Squad, they located him hiding in a backyard on St Georges Road.
The 19-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.
He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today.
