NSW Health has reported Coronavirus cases have surged across the state with 825 new COVID-19 cases up until 8 pm last night.
It's a new record for Australia since the pandemic began and the fourth consecutive day NSW has seen Delta variant infections above the 600-case mark.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said there have been three additional deaths.
At least 96 people were out and about infectious in the community.
There are 38 locally acquired cases across country NSW.
One new COVID-19 case has been reported in Kiama.
More than 120,000 people were tested in the past 24 hours.
There were 681 infringement notices issued by NSW Police across the state.
Regional Victoria will join Melbourne in lockdown after 61 new cases were recorded.
