Former Gold Coast Titans player and coach Michael Gordon has avoided a conviction after being found guilty of two drug supply charges.

The 38-year-old was arrested at his Casuarina home in November 2020 as part of a sting targeting cocaine and MDMA supply across the NSW and Queensland border.

Gordon, who played 261 NRL matches for five clubs before retiring at the end of 2019, was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

He pleaded guilty to the drug possession charges and they were dismissed when he appeared in Tweed Head Local Court on Thursday.

He pleaded not guilty to the supply charges, but after magistrate Geoff Dunlevy found the charges proven he imposed conditional release orders of one and two years respectively.

Within hours of his arrest, the Titans released a brief statement confirming Gordon would no longer be working with them as a specialist coach.

Gordon's interim move to a coaching position at the Tweed Coast Raiders was also on hold after the NSW Rugby League insisted the case be finalised.

The prime minister says he feels a real sense of history as he prepares to lead an entourage of Australians travelling to London for the Queen's funeral.

Anthony Albanese will leave Sydney on Thursday evening with Governor-General David Hurley and their partners to attend the state funeral on Monday.

He is set to attend multiple events ahead of the occasion, which he said would be momentous.

"I feel a real sense of history here and a sense of privilege in representing Australia along with the governor-general and the acting high commissioner," Mr Albanese told ABC Radio.

"That sense of history and the longevity of service and the dedication to service that Queen Elizabeth had over those seven decades is one of the reasons why there is an outpouring of emotion."

Travelling with Mr Albanese will be 10 everyday Australians representing each state and territory, including Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott.

Australia has also invited heads of state from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Samoa.

Also on the flight will be prominent Australian racing identities Gai and Robbie Waterhouse, who were invited by Buckingham Palace to attend the funeral.

The pair were invited to travel on the flight with the prime minister due to a lack of available commercial flights to London.

After arriving in London, the prime minister will sign a book of condolence for the late monarch at Lancaster House and will view the Queen lying in state.

Tens of thousands of mourners have been viewing the Queen's coffin at Westminster Hall.

The prime minister will also have a one-on-one meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in the lead-up to the funeral.

A reception with the King will also be held with other Commonwealth leaders.

During the visit, Mr Albanese will meet with new UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, as well as his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau.

A reception will be held at Australia House in London, the Australian diplomatic mission in the UK, for all the Australians who will be attending the Queen's funeral.

Mr Albanese said the accession of King Charles III to the throne had prompted reflection on how the political system operates.

"One of the things that is occurring is that Australians are now more conscious of our system of government. There have been people who have expressed surprise to me about how King Charles has ascended to the throne automatically," he said.

"It is a chance, I think, for us to reflect on the system that we have over a period of time."

The prime minister has previously ruled out holding a referendum on Australia becoming a republic during his first term in office, saying the constitutional priority was enshrining an Indigenous voice to parliament.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton said it was "unseemly" for republic campaigners to "eke out some political advantage from the Queen's death".

"I don't agree with a republic and, frankly, I think what we're seeing at the moment highlights the stability, the transition, that you get in a monarchy," he told 2GB radio.

Tens of thousands of Australians have signed an online condolence book on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet website.

Physical books are also available to sign at Parliament House and Government House in Canberra as well as official residences in other states and territories.

Mr Albanese will return to Australia on Wednesday ahead of the national remembrance public holiday on Thursday, which will feature a memorial service in Canberra attended by all state and territory leaders.

Shane Warne's eldest daughter has spoken out against plans to dramatise her father's life in a two-part miniseries, calling the Nine Network "beyond disrespectful".

In a story posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Brooke Warne, 25, targeted the network, saying: "Do any of you have any respect for Dad? Or his family? Who did so much for Channel (Nine) and now you want to dramatise his life and our families (sic) life 6 months after he has passed away? You are beyond disrespectful."

The Nine Network says the miniseries, called Warnie, will screen over two nights in 2023.

It has described the show as a fitting tribute to one of the greatest Australians of all time and its must-see drama event of next year.

Casting details are yet to be announced. Screentime will produce the miniseries for the Nine Network in association with VicScreen.

Brooke's comments followed what would have been her father's 53rd birthday on Tuesday. She shared on Instagram: "Today will always be Your day."

His second-eldest daughter Summer Warne, 20, said she would do anything to see his big smile one last time.

"Thank you for the 20 years of memories we shared together. I will cherish them always," she posted on Instagram.

Warne's longtime manager James Erskine has previously spoken out against plans to dramatise the cricketer's life, telling News Corp this year he would write to chairman Peter Costello about the matter.

The former cricketer died on the Thai resort island of Koh Samui on March 4, with a televised state memorial held at the MCG in April.

R&B singer R. Kelly has been found guilty on multiple charges of child pornography and luring underage girls to have sex with him but cleared of obstructing a 2008 state case that ended with his acquittal.

In his latest trial, Kelly - whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly - was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday on six out of 13 counts, prosecutors said.

He was convicted of three child pornography counts and three counts of enticing minors for sex, but acquitted of seven other charges that included obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to receive child pornography.

In Chicago, a conviction of just one count of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years.

The verdict in US District Court in Chicago came after jurors deliberated for 11 hours over two days.

Kelly is among the most prominent people convicted of sexual misbehaviour following the #MeToo movement against harassment and abuse in recent years.

During the five-week trial, several women took the stand and told jurors Kelly sexually abused them when they were minors.

The jury also saw a video of Kelly molesting his goddaughter, who testified the abuse began in the 1990s when she was a teenager.

Kelly and both his co-defendants - Milton 'June' Brown and Derrel McDavid - were acquitted on charges they conspired to receive child pornography.

Kelly and McDavid were also acquitted on charges they conspired to obstruct justice in an earlier case.

The men were accused of trying to bribe and threaten witnesses in a 2008 Illinois case in which Kelly was found not guilty on 14 counts of child pornography.

In June, Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison on his conviction in a New York federal court on racketeering and prostitution charges.

That trial amplified accusations that had dogged the singer of the smash hit I Believe I Can Fly for two decades.

Kelly also faces various state charges in Illinois and Minnesota.
