Captain Pat Cummins will be Australia's only recognised quick against India in Delhi as the tourists opted to give Queensland spinner Matt Kuhnemann a Test debut.
Australia will bat first in the crucial second match of the Border-Gavaskar series after Cummins won another toss.
After being dropped for the opening Test, aggressive left-hander Travis Head has been recalled to replace Matt Renshaw at No.5 for the match in the Indian capital.
Kuhnemann was playing Sheffield Shield less than a week ago, but will play as a third spinner alongside first Test sensation Todd Murphy and veteran Nathan Lyon after being called into the squad to replace Queensland teammate Mitchell Swepson.
The last time Australia picked three spinners was against Bangladesh in 2017 when Lyon, Ashton Agar and Steve O'Keefe played, as well as allrounder Glenn Maxwell.
Miserly Victorian quick Scott Boland drops out for Kuhnemann after playing an important role in Nagpur last week.
"We feel the pitch here, the conditions, that spin will dominate the game once again and from what we understand this pitch has been used three times already this year and there's already substantial cracking in the areas where most of the game is going to be played," Australia selector Tony Dodemaide said.
Australia will need to defy history to level the series, with India unbeaten in red-ball matches at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium since 1987.
India will enter the match with added motivation as prolific No.3 Cheteshwar Pujara readies to play his 100th Test.
The hosts have made just one change, with fit-again Shreyas Iyer replacing Suryakumar Yadav at No.5
The match will begin in heavily smoggy conditions, with Delhi's air quality index rated as hazardous.

Star India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has struck twice just before lunch to leave Australia struggling at 3-94 in the second Test in Delhi.
After capitulating to an innings and 132-run loss in Nagpur last week, Australia appeared to be getting the hang of playing in the spin-friendly conditions on Friday.
Australia were 1-91, but they lost 2-0 in three balls late in the first session of day one as Ashwin claimed the prized wickets of Marnus Labuschagne (18) and Steve Smith (0).
But opener Usman Khawha (50 no) is still there, playing brilliantly in riding his luck to notch up Australia's first fifty of this series.
Khawaja survived some big shouts from India's spinners and quicks alike in smoggy conditions at Arun Jaitely Stadium.
The 36-year-old played bravely, stepping down the wicket to Ashwin and hitting him for a big six over long-off in a clear highlight of the session for Australia.
He will resume with recalled No.5 Travis Head (1) after lunch.
Khawaja's opening partner David Warner fell for 15 to end a torturous innings where he was hit on the helmet and elbow in separate incidents.
India fast bowler Mohammed Shami claimed Warner's wicket for the second time in a week after removing him in the third over of the match in Nagpur.
Australia were rolled for 177 on day in VCA Stadium after winning the toss, and then crumbled for 91 - their lowest Test total in India - in their second innings to bring the Test to an end in three days.
Meanwhile, captain Pat Cummins will be Australia's only recognised quick against India in Delhi as the tourists opted to give Queensland spinner Matt Kuhnemann a Test debut.

Nearly a year after Bruce Willis's family announced he would step away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, they say his condition has progressed.
In a statement, the 67-year-old actor's family says Willis has a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
"While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis," Thursday's statement read. "FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone."
Last March, Willis's family said his aphasia had affected his cognitive abilities. The condition causes loss of the ability to understand or express speech.
In Thursday's statement, his family said communication challenges were just one symptom of frontotemporal dementia.
"Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead," the statement read.
"As Bruce's condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research."
The statement was posted on the website for The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration and signed by Willis's wife, Emma Heming Willis, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his five children, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn.
The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration describes FTD as a group of brain disorders caused by degeneration of the frontal or temporal lobes of the brain that affects behaviour, language and movement.
Aphasia can be a symptom of it. The association describes frontotemporal degeneration as "an inevitable decline in functioning", with an average life expectancy of seven to 13 years after the onset of symptoms.
Over a four-decade career, Willis' movies had earned more than $US5 billion ($A7.2 billion) at the worldwide box office. While beloved for hits like Die Hard and The Sixth Sense, the prolific actor had in recent years primarily featured in direct-to-video thrillers.
"Bruce has always found joy in life -- and has helped everyone he knows to do the same," the family said.
"It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us. We have been so moved by the love you have all shared for our dear husband, father, and friend during this difficult time. Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible."
