Watch the terrifiying moment a safari game vehicle gets stormed by an angry elephant bull.

It was a close call for wildlife guide students taking a safari tour on Sunday, after their car was charged by an aggrivated elephant.

In the now-gone-viral video, two elephants can be seen wandering toward the vehicle when a third comes charging from the left.

The male elephant was in musth and is seen using its tusks to shift the vehicle off the path.

According to the tour company, elephant bulls in musth 'experience high levels of testosterone and may display aggressive behaviour.'
 
 

EcoTraining, the company who hosted the thrilling safari at Selati Game Reserve in South Africa confirmed the incident in a statement.

"On a routine activity, the EcoTraining instructors and trainees came across a breeding herd of elephants. The vehicle stopped to observe the elephants and give them a chance to settle down."
 
"An elephant bull, who was with the breeding herd, mock charged the vehicle. The elephant bull mock charged again, when they moved forward slowly, and then made contact with the game drive vehicle and displaced it off the road."
 
"Once the vehicle had come to a standstill, the trainees were moved to the second vehicle that was parked in close proximity. Both EcoTraining instructors that accompanied the trainees have more than 25 years of experience in the field."
 
Mr. Bryan Havemann, General Manager of Selati Game Reserve, confirmed that “although the vehicle was damaged, thankfully none of the people on the vehicle were injured.”
 
The company have provided professional counseling for everyone involved.
 

A second video, filmed by an onlooker in the vehicle behind, shows passengers scrambling from the first car while someone can be heard yelling, 'Get out! Get out! Get out! Get out of the car now!'.

It then appears as though the angry elephant retreated shortly after attacking the vehicle. 

Let this be a reminder to never mess with these giants, gentle as they appear from a distance.
